Our Classes

OVERVIEW

Our curriculum incorporates facets from many popular preschool philosophies. We begin the day by providing opportunities for the children to explore their world through play. We supply continuous opportunities for the children to explore concepts such as colors, shapes, letters and literacy, numbers and math, and science. Each day will include activities to develop fine and gross motor skills, language and vocabulary, and wonder about the natural world. We will involve the children in creative art experiences, block building, and dramatic play.

We will borrow the best parts from many different early education approaches such as: Developmentally Appropriate Practices (supported by the National Association for the Education of Young Children), Play-Based Learning, Child-Centered, Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf.

GOALS:

Each class is unique in our focus. We build our curriculum based on the interests of our children in each class from year to year.

We have common goals for all of our children despite their age:

  1. Become a respectful member in a group and community
  2. Develop a love of learning
  3. Develop self help skills
  4. Improve communication skills with peers and adults
  5. Develop self confidence and independence
