Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our curriculum incorporates facets from many popular preschool philosophies. We begin the day by providing opportunities for the children to explore their world through play. We supply continuous opportunities for the children to explore concepts such as colors, shapes, letters and literacy, numbers and math, and science. Each day will include activities to develop fine and gross motor skills, language and vocabulary, and wonder about the natural world. We involve the children in creative art experiences, block building, and dramatic play.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developmentally appropriate practices (as outlined by the NAEYC) provide the foundation of our program. We also incorporate elements of many different early education approaches, such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each class is unique in our focus. We build our curriculum based on the interests of our children in each class from year to year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have common goals for all of our children despite their age:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Become a respectful member in a group and community<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Develop a love of learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Develop self help skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Improve communication skills with peers and adults<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Develop self confidence and independence<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Chickadees Class (1 & 2-year-olds)<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Must be age 1 by August 31st
    Parent\/caregiver attends class with child
    Wednesday 4-5:30 pm
    Class size limited to 10 (minimum of 6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Owls Class (2 & 3-year-olds)<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Must be age 2 by August 31st
    Diapers acceptable
    Tuesday and Thursday 9:30-11:30 am
    Class limited to 12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Woodpeckers Class (3 & 4-year-olds)<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Must be age 3 by August 31st
    Pull-ups or training pants acceptable
    Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 9:30-11:30 am
    Class limited to 14<\/p>\n\n\n\n
